Hi, I want to personally thank you for visiting Step It Up Gym’s official website! I began my journey into fitness in 2004 shortly after graduating high school where I got certified as a Personal Trainer by AFAA. I started training clients at a local YMCA in Pleasant Hill and cultivated my passion for helping others improve their overall health. In addition I spent several years studying Kinesiology and tutoring Anatomy and Physiology students at Diablo Valley College. In 2007 I decided to become an independent trainer, training a clientele at Step It Up Studios which at the time was owned and operated by my mother, Kiki. In 2010 I then decided to expand Step It Up, laying the foundation for a 24 hour key access gym as an addition. Once the expansion was complete in 2011, I opened the new addition to the public.
I enjoy educating clients as well as giving them a butt kicking workout! I firmly believe that any trainer can bring you through a tough workout, but it is another thing to teach them how to live a healthy lifestyle. Member satisfaction is a huge priority for me. I love making my members feel at home and as the gym continues to grow I remain determined to see in which each member is accommodated. I am free for any questions at any time. Additionally, members can rest easy knowing that Step It Up gym has a membership limit so the facility never becomes overcrowded like other well known franchises.
Thank you for your interest in Step It Up Gym! Fitness and nutrition are my life’s passion. My interest in weight training started in college where I worked part-time for a nutrition and supplement company, further expanding my knowledge of diet and nutrition. I became a NASM certified trainer during my last year at St. Mary’s College and worked at a small local gym developing customized workout plans for people at various fitness levels.
In 2013, I took my fitness passion to another level when I competed for the Men’s Physique Bodybuilding NPC Title. That year I won fourth place in my class and weight. I competed again in 2015 and won first place! The strict diet, exercise regime and discipline required to win the competition was life altering. You can do anything you put your mind to! I still consider myself a Men’s Physique athlete and I look forward to stepping on stage again soon.
Taking my love of fitness, a step further, I’m happy to join Ryan McNabb and the Step It Up Gym team. As a small business owner, I know how difficult it is to make time for yourself. Our goal is to inspire you to prioritize your health and help you achieve realistic fitness goals in an environment that is welcoming and supportive. When I’m not at Step it Up gym, I’m running Capital Conversion, a real estate investment company.
Personal Trainers & Coaches
Originally from a small island off the coast of Seattle, Inger Fredricks moved to California with big aspirations. Since moving to California in 2011, she has made a huge impact on the lives of others, becoming a professional fitness competitor and personal trainer. At the age of five, Inger began playing soccer and ever since she has been heavily involved the athletic realm. By the timer she was a teenager, she was playing soccer internationally, traveling to Europe and discovering her distinctive passion for fitness. Inger’s relentless work ethic is well known in her community and her genetic talent is undeniable. Her passion for fitness is something that she self describes as “the power that propels me towards my innate purpose in life.”
It was this passion that led her to competing in one of world’s most prestigious bodybuilding and fitness events, The World Beauty Fitness and Fashion Inc. (WBFF). In June of 2015, competing for the first time in her life, she was awarded her “Pro Status”! She plans on continuing her career as a physique and lifestyle coach, assisting those who want to improve their body composition and overall wellness, as well as, those who want to compete. Inger will be making her professional debut at the 2016 WBFF Worlds in Las Vegas. She told us, “I am blessed that I have something that I love to do and I have the privilege of doing it. I plan to bring a package to Worlds that is impossible to ignore. It is my goal to make a positive impact on others. I want to inspire other to follow their dreams because with integrity and consistency you are capable of achieving anything.”
I’m Joshua Foster. Originally from small town Alabama, I moved to the Pleasant Hill area in 2017 to bring my style of fitness and coaching to the west coast.
My fitness career began after a near fatal car accident in 2013, thus making me a paraplegic. Having an active lifestyle my entire life, I knew that the gym, fitness and routine would help me cope and find my new normal. Within one year post accident I became a personal trainer, Bootcamp coach and just a good ear to talk to.
I then took my dreams to the stage and after only two competitions I won my IFBB PRO card in 2016. In 2017, I made my pro debut at the 2017 Arnold Classic. My goal for 2018 is to make my second year pro even better than before.
Helping and encouraging those that have doubted themselves and their abilities has become my love. To see people change and love what they see in the mirror is my happy place.
If you wanna stop making excuses and start seeing results. Let me be the fella to help!
